We are leaders in our field but come from humble beginnings. Since 1983, TastyOne has evolved into a multi-faceted fresh produce business, keeping the Santalucia family name and values at its core.
1955
Mid 1950’s Nicola Santalucia starts a business as a Potato & Onion Merchant.
Michael Santalucia, the eldest son to Nicola Santalucia, begins working for his father as a potato merchant, selling potatoes and onions direct from the farm. His father having over 50 years experience in the potato industry, establishes long standing contacts directly with Australian farmers.
1983
Nicola Santalucia & son Michael set up the founding business as Bute Chips (located in Bute St, Seddon) supplying potato chips to shops in western suburbs.
Bute Chips commenced in 1983 where the founder, Michael Santalucia, saw a niche in the fresh food industry market, to peel and process potatoes. Bute Chips was established to supply many of Melbourne’s fast food outlets and function centres with fresh cut potato chips, from a small manufacturing plant in Seddon.
1991
Bute Chips purchased their first refrigerated vehicle.
1995
Tasty Chips expands its product range with the turn of the new Century.
As the industry and customer demands grew, Michael’s three sons joined his ambition and have now established a company that manufactures and distributes a large variety of freshly prepared Australian Fruit & Vegetables.
1998
Bute Chips rebrands as Tasty Chips.
As the business continues to evolve, Bute Chips has a facelift and rebrands to Tasty Chips - the Freshest Cut
2001
SQF Certified
Tasty Chips places itself as an industry leader, becoming SQF certified allowing the business to continue to grow and supply Australias most recognised brands.
2016
Purchased our first B-Double truck to service and procure produce throughout Victoria.
2019
Beginning of our pre-cooked produce lines and the beginning of a new market for Tasty Chips
2021
TastyChips employs its first NPD and Sustainability Manager to drive change and innovation throughout the business.
2022
TastyChips re-brands as TastyOne.
To align the brand with the future of the family and the business, TastyOne is launched on the 1st October 2022.
